As the line inched forward, a man in a cowboy hat started collecting people and moving them to a separate line. We got to Peak & Peak at 4:45 & at 5 pm we stood in a line without social distancing, despite the constant PA announcements to socially distance, and without any guidance from management. My husband attempted to call to set up a reservation many days prior, but it went directly to voicemail. We never got to tube!!! We stood in line for 2 hours, cold and disappointed. We drove 90 minutes to get to Peek n Peak for a Thursday evening of lunar tubing. The hot food area at the facility was closed, I'm not sure due to COVID or if it was just too early in the season. My kids rode the Screaming Eagle, which they reported was fun, and we all played putt putt. (The blue course has the same repelling thing, but it was a shorter drop.) My kids repelled down, but I couldn't bring myself to step off into the abyss. We did the giant zip-line, which was more fun and less scary than I thought, though I had to do the stairs of shame at the final platform. I didn't try the black diamond though, because I wasn't sure I was strong enough or brave enough. I felt incredibly safe on the obstacles-their safety procedures and training was very reassuring. There was also one moment on an easier level where I had to climb through rings and I wasn't sure I could stoop, but again, I succeeded. On the blue course here was one moment where I wasn't sure I was strong enough to pull myself up the ladder, but I succeeded. I completed the lower level courses, ending with the blue course. The most physically taxing part was walking up the hill to get there-the obstacles themselves relied more on balance and determination than upper body strength. We did the aerial adventure, and for reference, I am 47 year old female, slightly overweight and definitely out of shape, with grumpy knees. I took my two teenagers here for the day. I wish the Peek success, not sure I ll be back With Lake findley, Chautauqua, Etc near by there is no lack of customers able to pay your menu prices. The beer and pizza crowd can go to the pub, informal dining to the outer dining room, etc. I suggest having a semi formal area roped off and advertise it and you ll attract a different crowd of customers. People are looking for a formal like setting like Russell's in buffalo, Russell's is very very busy. I noticed this summer and currently the dining is not busy, though food was good. There was a time when the fireplace area had unwritten or written dress code with white tablecloths. Yet the menu is fine dining? $52 for ribeye etc. In the dining room near the fireplace, I was surrounded by hoodies, jeans, loud children, etc. We dressed semi formal not formal since we know the atmosphere is come as you wish. Celebrated our anniversary this weekend there. Formal dining is gone in such a beautiful imported DR.
